  • 22:47 @tpau No, but it marks it as a reply to my message, so I can filter it. To address me privately, use "d jadasc blahblahblah." #
  • 22:56 @tpau On your twitter.com web page, you can see all replies to you in one place. I can click on a link to see which post a reply references. #

  • 00:08 Note: the abbreviation is for "Step It Up and Dance," not "Suck it up and deal." Not unlike when FTW became "For The Win" all of a sudden. #
  • 14:01 @jducoeur So: is a member of your service a commyou-nist? #
  • 17:31 @jducoeur Really? kah-MYU? #
  • 17:37 @jducoeur Makes sense. It's only on the page that it looks like "calm you." #

  • 13:03 @UmbralEchoes At this point, I think I want to randomly link someone to a Rick *Springfield* video. "Bop 'Til You Drop," maybe. #
  • 13:07 @LeDiva Point. :) #
  • 21:34 Watching the Bravo Top Chef/SIUAD marathon with Cate while noshing on Chinese food. Life tends not to suck. #
  • 22:15 They're using "Cum On Feel The Noize" to sell frozen french fries now. This is not acceptable. #
  • 22:24 @LeDiva Well, my associations with Meat Loaf differ from those with Quiet Riot. Thank you for that, regardless. #

(Found through gmskarka.) How news of this movie has not flooded my friends-list, I'll never know. Dystopian future rock musical featuring Anthony Stewart Head. Coming in August.

As stolen from sassette726: WLIR (aka WDRE) is now off the air. Not only do I remember listening to it constantly at Adelphi, but I have memories of Elayne attaching tin foil to the radio antenna in our apartment in the Bronx so that she could tune it in when she was a teenager and I was... somewhat younger than that.

Today would have been Warren Zevon's 61st birthday. Coverville, the all-covers podcast, is commemorating this with a themed show which you can download here.

This may be a brand new crackpot theory. (At least I haven't seen it anywhere else.) Ridiculously intense comic book nerdery beyond the cut. No, really.Collapse )

Went into Minstrel's iTunes and pulled up a list of all the songs (as opposed to podcasts) that I added to my mp3 collection in 2007. This is what I collected this year, with commentary.Collapse )

Courtesy of Nathan Rabin's "My Year of Flops" on the Onion AV Club: The female lead role in "Howard the Duck" (which eventually got played by Lea Thompson) was initially offered to a "Y Kant" era Tori Amos.
